2024 Pledges

“You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ ”

Acts 20:35 NLT

Members and Friends of Calvin Church

Our God is a God who gives. In fact, our Lord simply loves to give and to give generously.

All we have is a gift from God — all our financial resources and material possessions. God gives intentionally for our good, not haphazardly without purpose. God gives abundantly, blessing us often with more than we need. God gives joyfully with delight, not begrudgingly with reluctance. And God gives continually, meeting our needs not just once but day after day.

Even more, God is in the midst of all of our giving, especially when we give as God gives.

Our Lord desires that we too will give intentionally, abundantly, joyfully, and continually.

The Scripture declares: “You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ ” (Acts 20:35 NLT).

As you contemplate your stewardship of the financial resources God entrusts to you, prayerfully consider what the Lord may ask of you for this next year. What might it look like for you to follow God in the midst of your giving?

  • Give Intentionally. If you give only intermittently, or if you seldom give financially to your church, you might begin a routine habit of generous financial giving every week or month by regularly setting aside even a small percentage of your income to share as an offering.
  • Give Abundantly. If you regularly give or tithe to Calvin Church, perhaps God is inviting you to increase your recurring giving to help our ministries keep up with rising costs.
  • Give Joyfully. If you give generously, pray for the good of those who will be blessed by your gifts, knowing that God loves a cheerful giver.
  • Give Continually. If you are already prayerfully responding to God’s call with your tithes and offerings, keeping God in the midst of giving could include reviewing your planned giving and incorporating Calvin Church in your estate planning.

Please complete a “God in the Midst of Giving” Commitment Card to indicate your financial stewardship commitment for Calvin Church’s General Fund in 2024. While we would appreciate receiving your card by Sunday, November 26, you may mail it or return it to the church office at
any time.

Thank you for your partnership in the life and ministries of Calvin Church. May we each perceive and respond faithfully to God’s presence and work in the midst of our giving!

Serving Christ with you,

Dr. Neil Trainer
Pastor
