Emily Mitchell

Emily grew up in Seattle and is a graduate of Whitman College (B.A. in Spanish and Politics) and Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.). After a pastoral residency in the missions department at BelPres in Bellevue, Washington, Emily served as Associate Pastor of First Pres Maumee in Maumee, Ohio for four years, before coming to Calvin in February 2019. She was installed at Calvin in March 2021 as the Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Formation.

She is pleased to call the Pacific Northwest her home, having been born and raised in Seattle. In addition to pastoring, she has been trained to serve as a Spiritual Director through Renewal Ministries Northwest. When she’s not working, she enjoys reading, cooking, being outdoors, and having good conversations with friends over tea.
