Working Together to End Homelessness in Our Community
Calvin Vision House Action Team Mission Statement
The Calvin Vision House Action Team is committed to nurturing a year-round partnership between Calvin Church and Vision House. We strive to bridge the gap between our communities by inviting our whole church family into meaningful connection and Christ-centered service, through faithful prayer, compassionate relationships, spiritual care, and financial generosity that reflect the love of Christ.
Vision House History
Since 1990, Vision House has successfully provided transitional housing, support services and child care for homeless families with a progressive, Christ-centered model that radically transforms lives. Vision House has a strong success rate. 90% of the residents in their family programs have transitioned to permanent housing, employment and financial stability.
The Homelessness Crisis — Here’s the reality:
Homelessness in King County is exploding. The need right now is massive. While even just one person trapped in homelessness is too many . . . 40,000 is a crisis.
Vision House Process
Vision House is not a handout organization. It’s about relationships, dignity, and hope. Every family that walks through their doors is treated as a child of God — worthy of love, respect, and opportunity. Here is an illustration of how Vision House assists families in need.
