Working in Partnerships around the Globe
Calvin Church is committed to taking the love of God to others through works of care, acts of justice and the proclamation of the Gospel, whether around our community or around the globe. We value holistic and collaborative outreach ministries; that is, we seek to balance justice, compassion, development, and evangelism, and we seek to work through strategic partnerships.
Our primary international partners:
- ESC is a partnership of churches in the Pacific Northwest working with additional partners in Cambodia to develop Christian leaders among the Khmer people in Cambodia.
- Path from Poverty (formerly Women’s Enterprises International) partners with women’s groups in Kenya. PFP’s strategy combines the power of women working together, their self-designed savings projects, and the incentive of a financial match. When a women’s group determines a development project of greatest need, PFP contributes a financial gift that matches the group’s savings for the project. This financial incentive encourages and supports the hard work of savings and collaboration. Several Calvin women have traveled to Kenya on Friendship Work teams to help bring clean rainwater to rural villages.
- Yucatan Helping Hands is a Christian ministry in Mexico, fostering relationships between churches in the U.S. and Yucatan, working together to bring transformational and sustainable change to communities through short-term missions. Formed by Calvin members Byron and Inez Ahina, the focus of YHH has extended to promote a combination of overall health and evangelistic growth.
