Training Christian Leaders in Cambodia
Reaching the Khmer, An Unreached People Group
Reaching Out
In November 2005, Calvin Church adopted the Khmer people of Cambodia as an unreached people group (UPG). A UPG is a group of people identified by language and culture without a self-sustainable gospel witness for Jesus Christ (less than 5% Christian).
Partnering
Calvin is committed to a long-term partnership with local churches in Cambodia to reach out to, and act in support of, the Christian indigenous movement in that country that has seen much suffering.
Facilitating that partnership are trusted mission partners partially supported by Calvin Church:
- Brian Maher
- Lynn Ogata
Among the specific areas of focus are:
- Christian Leadership Development –
DOVE’s Diamond Program - Education –
CUSP (Cambodian University Scholarship Project) – supporting promising students from rural villages through high school and university studies
